RAMBLIN THRU
THE BUSH IN FOX HILL

Every once in a while one does something completely apolitical, something that harks back to youth.  Ramblin' through the bush in Fox Hill is one such thing.  It was an ordinary enough Saturday afternoon.  This columnist was doing what is done just about every Saturday; walking about the constituency, talking, listening, hanging out.  For years now, we have been hearing about this blue hole of Fox Hill.  Finally, someone suggested "let's go ramblin' and see if we can still find it."  It was a great trip and a fun day.

By the time we were ready to go, quite an enthusiastic group had gathered for the trip.  First stop was an overgrown building on a hilltop, surrounded by Fox Hill brush, including the ever present bramble ready to shred the unprotected ankles of the eager or the unaware.

An abandoned well along the way.... Who would like to try to climb out of that?

There were holes in the ground, other than just the blue hole; not all of them so obvious.... This one deserved a group picture.

One of the pure pleasures of rambling in the bush is not knowing exactly what one will encounter or where.  This wall in the middle of nowhere was an exciting find....

The group pauses for a break before the grande finale of the trip:
